Despair is the debut EP by Sokhey, released in July 2025 under Sokhey Studio. The four-track project — Laare, Lifeless, Fond Memories, and Adhure Geet — established Sokhey's signature sound: Punjabi emotional storytelling fused with contemporary R&B, synthwave, and pop-rock. Written, composed, and produced entirely by Sokhey, with Fond Memories featuring a guest appearance by Babbal Saggu.

Behind the EP
"Despair" emerged as a cohesive artistic statement — a debut extended play that documented Sokhey's emotional landscape with uncompromising honesty. Each of the four tracks was written, composed, and produced entirely by Sokhey at Sokhey Studio, with only Fond Memories bringing in an outside voice: the acclaimed Punjabi vocalist Babbal Saggu, whose contribution deepened the song's emotional resonance.
The EP's title is deliberate. Rather than softening the edges of difficult emotions for commercial palatability, Sokhey leaned into them — producing an EP that is simultaneously deeply personal and sonically ambitious. Laare and Lifeless open the project in a space of raw heartbreak; Fond Memories offers the bittersweet comfort of nostalgia; Adhure Geet closes things on an unresolved, honest note. This arc from acute pain through memory to acceptance-without-closure is the EP's emotional spine.
